Tomas Berdych beat Croatian Marin Cilic to become champion of the 41st ABN-AMRO World Tennis Tournement. The tournament, that featured a strong field including the likes of Andy Murray and Juan Martin Del Petro, is an ATP 500 event, the second tier on the ATP World Tour.

Berdych had a difficult run to winning his first tournament of the season, having to defeat the likes of Andreas Seppi, Nicolas Mahut, Jerzy Janowicz and Ernest Gulbis en route to the final, dropping only one set.

Cilic had an even more difficult run having to defeat fifth seed Jo Wilfried Tsonga and second seed Andy Murray, but negotiated both matches very comfortably, however Tomas Berdych proved too tough a task, beating the Croatian 6-4, 6-2.

In the doubles event, Michael Llodra and Nicolas Mahut won, defeating Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau 6-2, 7-6 in the final.
