With all teams in the Evo Stik division 1 North & South leagues competing in the FA cup preliminary round there was plenty of action and drama.

There were FOUR matches that ended 3-3 with Prescot Cables coming from 3-1 down to draw with 1874 Northwich thanks to a late equaliser from Neil Black, Basford united held Sheffield FC, Kevin Renshaw bagged a brace as Shawbury drew with Tivdale and Brocton earned a replay against Sutton Coldfield.

Farsley defeated Athersley Rec 4-1 thanks to a super finish from Robbie O’Brien as well as goals from Lewis Nightingale, Aiden Savory and Adam Priestley, while Lee Bennett tucked away a penalty to earn Athersley Rec a consolation. Elsewhere there were 3-0 wins for Staveley Miners Welfare, Brighouse Town, Stafford Rangers and Ossett Albion.

There were also some pretty one sided matches as Market Drayton beat Dudley 6-0, Leek Town beat Lichfield 5-1, Lincoln United beat Brigg Town 4-0 as did Northwich Victoria against AFC Emley, whereas as Ossett Town beat Stocksport Sports 5-1 despite falling behind and Lancaster city handed out the heaviest defeat of the day to Washington who they beat 7-0.
