Farsley AFC progressed to the second qualifying round of the FA Cup after they defeated Frickley Athletic 2-1. Farsley took the lead when a Lewis Nightingale free-kick was bundled into his own net by Danny South. Just before half-time Farsley doubled their lead when Gibraltar international Adam Priestley passed to Robbie O’Brien who neatly lobbed goalkeeper Ben Simpson. Frickley got back into the game, against the run of play, in injury time when substitute Joel Barnett crossed for Gavin Allott, who tapped home into an empty net. Despite late pressure from Frickley they failed to force home an equaliser and Farsley deservedly held on for the win.
