Farsley AFC v Salford City FC
Salford earned a point away at Farsley thanks to a late winner from Gareth Seddon, cancelling out Robbie O’Brien’s earlier strike.
Farsley had the first chance of the game when Jason Jarrett let in Marcus Edwards whose effort was well saved by Jay Lynch. Edwards then went one-on-one with Jay Lynch again just minutes later, but this time he stroked it inches wide of the post. Salford had their first chance soon after, when Danny Webber turned and shot on the half-volley, however Tom Taylor managed to get his fingertips to the ball to tip it over the bar.
Midway through the second half Robbie O’Brien received the ball on the left wing before he cut in and shot, only to see it comfortably saved by Jay Lynch. Minutes later Farsley took a deserved lead when Edwards nutmegged Chris Lynch and crossed for O’Brien who tucked the ball home off the inside of the post. This was just the fifth league goal Salford had conceded all season. With less than ten minutes remaining Salford started to build a little pressure when Seddon had a shot saved by Taylor. However he wasn’t to be denied and with less than two minutes remaining, a Nicholas Platt free-kick was headed back across to him, and he delivered a spectacular overhead kick to equalise. As the game headed into injury time there was a touch line fracas which resulted in Phil Power(Salford manager) and Mark Jackson being sent off. There was one last chance for Farsley however, as the ball fell to Josh Grant at the back post, but he headed straight at Jay Lynch.
