Just two results were possible in the latest round of the CSA Provincial 50 Over competition, with rain rife around South Africa.

Borders defeated Northerns by 4 wickets via the Duckworth/Lewis Method. Northerns made 257-9 from their fifty overs thanks to 84 from the in-form Vardhan and 50 from wicket keeper Klaasen. However in response Borders scored 228-6 in 41.2 overs, after a revised target of 227 in 42 overs was set. De Wett made 83 but it was Marais who saw them home with a quick fire 44 not out off 35 balls.

Gauteng defeated Namibia by four wickets thanks to a strong bowling display. Namibia were dismissed for a below par 206 thanks to a superb 5-28 in 10 overs from Le Roux. That then allowed Gauteng opener Hendricks to finish unbeaten on 103 as the runs were knocked off in 49 overs.

The matches that failed to gain a result were Kwa-Zulu Natal v Griqualand West, where some cricket was played and Free State v Eastern Province, which was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
