Burscough twice came from behind to earn a well deserved point away to Farsley AFC at Throstle Nest.

The game got off to a scrappy start with both sides struggling to find their rhythm. However, midway through the first half Farsley won a penalty when Lewis Nightingale was felled in the box. Nightingale took the penalty himself, firing into the top corner. Just moments later Farsley almost doubled their lead when Adam Priestley beat a defender in the box and then struck the post from the edge of the six yard box. Burscough then equalised when Edward Toner raced through one on one with Farsley keeper Tom Taylor and slotted home into the bottom corner. But that wasn’t the last action of the first half as Farsley won a second penalty when Phil Quirk blatantly handled the ball in the box. Nightingale stepped up once again, and bagged his second of the day.

Burscough started brightly in the second half and almost equalised when Jordan Williams had his effort well saved by Taylor. But they weren’t to be denied as they got a deserved equaliser moments later when Will Jones slotted under the diving Taylor. Farsley then hit the woodwork for the second time as James Riley’s bullet header struck the crossbar. Just after the hour mark Burscough had a chance to take the lead when Jordan Williams slipped in Will Jones who’s shot was well saved by Taylor from point blank range. Aiden Savory, now five games without a goal, had a great chance to win it when Nightingale squared the ball only to see Savory sky his effort from close range.
