Assupol TUKS enjoyed a good day at the office with two wins in the same day of South Africa’s Varsity Cricket T20.

University of Western Cape beat the University of Free state by 9 wickets. University of Free state were bowled out for an inadequate 90 thanks to 3-12 from Cyster, and Western Cape knocked off the runs in 13 overs thanks to 52 not out from Banda.

Assupol TUKS demolished the University of Cape Town by 10 wickets after being set 128 to win. This proved little challenge though as openers Markram and Coetzee, scoring 65 and 45 respectively, dominated the bowling from start to finish.

University of Free state got back to winning ways with a four wicket win over Johannesburg. Johannesburg set a challenging target of 140 thanks to 61 from Valli, but 22 extras in the response really killed the game off.

Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University defeated University of Western Cape by seven wickets in a high scoring affair. Cupido scored 58 as Western Cape were set 164 to win. But a brilliantly controlled 70 not out from White saw Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University home with four balls to spare.

Assupol TUKS sealed their second victory of the day with a 46 run win over North West University. Coetzee sparkled with 97 off 62 balls and fell just short of a deserved ton, as Assupol TUKS set the highest score of the day with 174. North West University never got going in their response and were bowled out for 128. The pick of the bowlers was Klaasen with 3-14.
