Farsley’s promotion push suffered a major setback as they were defeated for the second time in a week, slipping to a disappointing 2-1 loss to local rivals Ossett Albion.

Ossett started the brighter and had a chance when Farsley defender Spencer Harris missed a header which allowed Connor Bower through on goal who slotted home, as Tom Taylor failed to save. Farsley improved as the half went on and almost equalised when Andy Welsh played in Lewis Nightingale who’s shot was well saved by Brett Souter from close range. However Ossett dealt Farsley with a sucker-punch moments later as Timothy Taylor played in Bower who knocked the ball past Tom Taylor and smashed the ball into the back of the net.

Just before the hour mark Farsley had a good opportunity when a dipping Kyle Hancock free-kick was well saved by Souter. With time running out Michael Aspin gave Farsley a lifeline when Lewis Nightingale squared the ball to him and he slotted into an empty net. Moments later he almost grabbed a spectacular equaliser with a searing half-volley from all of 25 yards. With time running out a penalty box fracas resulted in Albion skipper Wes Milnes being sent for an early shower, however Farsley failed to take advantage in the remaining minutes and slipped to another defeat.
