In a West Yorkshire Derby on Monday night Ossett Town defeated Brighouse thanks to goals by David Brown and Nathan Curtis either side of a Steven Hollingworth equaliser.
Onto Tuesday and there were a couple of heavy defeats for the home sides, firstly at Droylsden where, despite taking the lead through Demosey Smith in the third minute, they slumped to a heavy 5-1 loss against Clitheroe, who scored three goals in four minutes to take control. Prescot Cables also suffered a thrashing at home against Witton Albion, losing 6-0 with Daniel Andrews and Chris Baker bagging a brace each. Kendal Town came from a goal down to defeat Burscough 2-1 thanks to an 89th minute winner from Daniel Forbes, and Bamber Bridge held Lancaster to a 1-1 draw, with Chris Marlow responding to Jacob Gregory’s opener. Mossley and Trafford played out a stalemate, as did Glossop North End away to Ossett Albion at Dimple Wells. Scarborough Athletic defeated Farsley Celtic 1-0 thanks to a Thomas Corner winner, and a late equaliser from Liam Henderson earnt Spennymoor a point at home to Harrogate Railway after Daniel Thirkell’s opener on the hour mark.
The last game of the round took place on Wednesday, and Northwich had a victorious homecoming defeating New Mills 2-0 thanks to two Stuart Cook goals either side of halftime.
