Farsley Celtic progressed to the second round of the West Riding County Cup, where they will face FC Halifax Town, thanks to a last gasp winner from Rhys Jenkinson.

Farsley Celtic took an early lead as Lewis Sugden played in captain Robbie O’Brien, whose cross was put through his own net by opposite number Steven Jeff. Lewis Sugden continued to be at the center of the action, and forced Ossett ‘keeper Tom Morgan into a good save after he shot from the edge of the box. Moments later Ossett raced down the other end and Jake Lofthouse got down well to prevent Darol Lucas from equalizing.

Town did equalize in the second half when ex-Celt Chris Ovington crossed for substitute Mitchell Hamilton who headed home past Lofthouse. Minutes after, Farsley almost retook the lead against the run of play when Kyle Hancock’s low cross was turned onto the bar by Rhys Jenkinson. Farsley continued to create chances, however they spurned another great one when Josh Grant crossed for Lewis Nighingale who hit the outside of the post from inside the six yard box, when it seemed easier to score than miss. However with time running out Farsley did find a winner as Tom Morgan could only parry Paddy Miller’s cross to the feet of Rhys Jenkinson who slotted home.
