Farsley Celtic pounced late to snatch a deserved victory and all three points over Trafford in a scrappy affair at Throstle Nest. Farsley started the brighter and had the first chance of the game when Paul Walker, who recently made his loan deal permanent, squared to Aiden Savory who’s effort was blocked by Andrew Langford. Savory then latched onto a long ball by Paddy Miller, however Russell Saunders raced off his line to make the save. The Celts continued to dominate and just before halftime Ross Daly set up Savory who curled inches wide of the upright from the edge of the box.

Farsley continued to nullify Trafford as the game continued into the second half and almost took the lead as Adam Clayton headed goal wards from Walker’s corner, only for Saunders to make the save before the ball was cleared off the line. Midway through the half Chris Howarth tried his luck from range, but Saunders was equal to the task as he palmed the ball away. As time was running out Farsley had a great chance to go in front when Ross Daly crossed for Aiden Savory who could only tap wide from inside the six yard box. Farsley finally took the lead in the 90th minute as Walker split the defence in two as he played a brilliant cross field pass to captain Aaron Hardy who cut inside and curled beautifully into the top corner. And just moments later the three points were signed, sealed and delivered as Savory gathered a loose ball and tucked past Trafford ‘keeper Saunders.Farsley Celtic: Taylor, Hardy (c), Serrant, Sugden, Clayton, Miller, Nightingale (Osbourne 86), Daly, Walker, Savory, Howarth.
