(I wasn’t at the game, so this is just a quick recap from Twitter updates.)

Farsley Celtic put in an assured and confident display as they defeated Leeds United U21s 1-0 at Throstle Nest, making it four wins from four in preseason.

Farsley took the lead early in the game when a defensive mistake from Leeds allowed Jordan Deacey to pounce and open the scoring. Midway through the half some neat play from Aiden Savory put James Walshaw through on goal however Peacock-Farrell made the save. Clark Oduor then had a good chance to equalise for Leeds however Graeme Mckibbin made a comfortable save. On the stroke of half time Paddy Miller almost doubled The Celts’ lead however he could only direct his header over the bar.

Farsley made a bright start to the second half and Savory had a chance to score however he headed just wide from Jordan Deacey’s excellent cross. Wilks then had the best chance of the game for Leeds United however Mckibbin got down sharply to make a good save. Farsley continued to dominate the play as Leeds failed to carve out any clearcut opportunities in the final fifteen minutes, with Farsley claiming a 1-0 victory.
