Farsley Celtic return to league action as they welcome lowly Burscough FC to Throstle Nest in the final game before Christmas.

Ahead of a crucial run of games over the festive period, Farsley will be looking to recapture their form with a victory today. The Celts have won just one of their last four games, a 3-1 County Cup success over Glasshoughton Welfare. Most recently Farsley were held to a 0-0 draw by Ossett Albion in the league despite having excellent chances to win the game, which leaves the side in 7th, albeit with multiple games in hand on the teams above. Farsley will no longer be able to call on Jacob Hazel who returned to Gainsborough Trinity following his loan spell and his since moved onto Scarborough Athletic, whilst Ryan Serrant and Alex Davidson remain sidelined with injuries.

Burscough have struggled so far this season and sit nine points adrift at the basement of the league. Earlier in the season they were beaten 5-0 by Farsley, so will be looking to exact some revenge today. Earlier this week Burscough parted company with manager Dave Powell following just two league wins all season. They have since appointed Simon Hardman as head coach and Keith McCann as his assistant. They have no apparent injury concerns.

So why not come down and cheer on your local side at Throstle Nest, postcode LS28 5BE. The game kicks off at 3pm and admission prices are just £7 adults, £4 concessions and £1 U16s. See you there!
