Following Saturday’s superb 3-2 victory over Colne, Farsley are back on the road on Tuesday as they travel to Droylsden FC. This is a rearranged fixture after the weather got the better of the football in November, so with a win The Celts could jump up to second in the table.
Farsley have made a terrific start to 2017 with a 100% record, winning four consecutive games whilst climbing to fourth in the Evo-Stik Division 1 North and also reaching the semi-finals of the West Riding County Cup after a 4-2 victory over National League side Guiseley AFC. The Celts and Droylsden will meet for the first time this season and Farsley will head into the game with an unchanged squad from Saturday’s win. An Adam Clayton strike and two goals from James Walshaw, including a sensational strike, saw Farsley across the line and the only negative is that Alex Davidson remains sidelined with injury.
Meanwhile Droylsden have also made an impressive start to the new year going five unbeaten, which includes victories over Ossett Albion (2-1), Mossley (4-3) and Burscough (4-1). Droylsden now sit 11th in the table and have no apparent injury concerns. The Bloods have announced Billy Hasler-Cregg is back at the club for the rest of the season and will go straight into contention for this fixture.
The game takes place at the Butcher’s Arms Ground, postcode M43 7AY. Kick off is at 7.45pm and admission prices are £8 adults, £5 concessions and £1 U16s. If you can’t make the trip you can follow the updates on Twitter with @FarsleyCelticFC.
