Title chasing Farsley Celtic welcome relegation threatened Goole AFC to Throstle Nest for another crucial all Yorkshire clash. The two sides have met twice already this season with The Celts prevailing in both, James Walshaw bagging a brace as well as an Aiden Savory strike providing Farsley with a 3-0 league triumph in August. Farsley were also victorious in the League Cup second round with a 5-2 success. Charlie Shelley gave Goole a shock lead before Lewis Nightingale and a deflected Ryan Serrant effort edged Farsley in front. Goole then levelled through Danny Chambers before Chris Howarth smashed a second half hat trick to send Farsley through.

Farsley enter this game top of the league and with the chance to pull three points clear of title rivals Lancaster City with a victory tonight. Farsley have been on fire recently with six consecutive wins in all competitions and seven consecutive league victories. This run has included several impressive victories over play off contenders such as Scarborough (4-1), Glossop North End (4-1), Clitheroe (3-1), whilst also winning a 5-4 thriller against Hyde United. Most recently The Celts defeated local rivals Ossett Albion, coming from a goal behind to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Adam Clayton and Lewis Nightingale. Farsley will be unable to call on the injured Peter Davidson and Lamin Colley for tonight’s clash, whilst James Walshaw will serve the second game of his four match ban.

Goole have grappled all season to escape the clutches of relegation and currently sit 21st, eight points from safety with just eight games left to play. The Vikings have struggled for goals all season scoring just 29 in 34 games. They have won just two games in 2017 against Mossley and Droylsden, but enter this game on the back of consecutive defeats to Colne (4-0) and Glossop North End (2-0). They have no apparent injury concerns.
