Farsley Celtic will look to return to winning ways on Saturday as the league leaders welcome Bamber Bridge to Throstle Nest, after Tuesday’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to Goole. The two sides are yet to meet this season, and The Celts will make the trip to Irongate next weekend for the return fixture.
The Celts currently sit top of the Evo-Stik Division 1 North on goal difference, however have a game in hand on second placed Lancaster City who face Tadcaster Abion on Saturday. Tuesday’s slip up against Goole brought to an end a run of six consecutive wins in all competitions, and Farsley will be desperate to continue their title tilt with victory tomorrow. Farsley will still be without the suspended James Walshaw who will return for the return fixture against Bamber Bridge. On the injury front, Lamin Colley is progressing well but is not yet ready to return to action, Peter Davidson will be touch and go after picking up a knock against Ossett, whilst Nathan Turner will be fit enough to retain his spot on the bench. Ahead of the game Farsley’s joint manager Neil Parsley said “We can be proud of what we’ve achieved so far this season and we’re in a position to go on and be successful, so we just need to get back to being more disciplined.”
Bamber Bridge head into the game on the back of a terrific victory last Saturday, as they trounced play off hopefuls Ossett Town 4-0. Inconsistency has been the problem all season for twelfth placed Bamber Bridge, and this can be highlighted through their last four games. They suffered defeats in the league to Tadcaster (2-1) and Ramsbottom (1-0) either side of a cup success against Glossop North End (1-0) before they went onto to dispatch of Ossett. They have no apparent injury concerns.
