With the regular season done and dusted, it’s back to knockout football for The Celts who host Colne with a place in the playoff final at stake. Farsley finished the season in second place just one point behind champions Lancaster, and means they have earned home advantage in the playoffs. The two sides have met twice this season, with Farsley winning both. Both games were extremely close with Farsley winning 2-1 at Throstle Nest and 3-2 on the road, with a James Walshaw wonder goal helping Farsley to victory.
The Celts come into the game off arguably their best league performance of the season as they outclassed Kendal Town 5-0 at the Pye Motors Stadium. Goals from James Walshaw, Richard Marshall, Paul Walker and a Lewis Nightingale brace helped The Villagers to victory. Farsley have lost just one of their last seven, a 2-0 defeat to Ossett Town, whilst also lifting the West Riding County Cup against Tadcaster Albion. The Celts could welcome back Lamin Colley who missed Saturday’s victory, but otherwise will be unchanged.
Colne have had a meteoric rise in their first season at this level after winning the North West Counties League last season. Colne have been in fantastic form as they search for back to back promotions, losing just one of their last eleven games, a 1-0 reversal at Glossop North End. That run includes a 2-1 victory over champions Lancaster, so they will be in a confident mood ahead of Tuesday’s semi-final. They have no apparent injuries.
